Meet Us
We kinda feel sorry for lawyers, mortgage brokers, mechanics, and the like. Nobody really seems to like them. While we've given up on the first two, we know there is hope for the latter. There are plenty of trustworthy, affordable mechanics out there who don't wake up every morning scheming how to rob you blind - it's just a matter of helping you find them.
With that noble goal in mind, CarHelp was launched in 1996 as a 1-800 number. Since then, it's evolved into a comprehensive online automotive resource connecting drivers with a network of reliable automobile service shops.
Just like you wouldn't dream of leaving your kids with a babysitter found on Craigslist, we won't send you to a service provider that hasn't been thoroughly screened by our CarHelp shady-dealer police (that's not an official title – it just sounds cool). In addition, consumer ratings and service warranties further guarantee your peace of mind.
Oh, and did we mention we want to change the world?
Necessary innovations for everything from energy-efficient auto technologies to transportation legislation are slow and cumbersome.
We are going to change that too.
We created the CarHelp Clean Institute to fight for clean air, energy independence and a reduction of highway deaths. Visit Clean Local Now for more details.
Currently in development is a grassroots forum for non-partisan civil discourse. Users discuss issues and vote on solutions, the results of which are sent to policymakers.
As you can see, we are a busy bunch. It keeps us out of trouble, and hopefully will soon transform society.
